WISH LIST something hilariously funny and/or geared toward boys or young men.
As expected, Clumsy Spider is receiving hundreds of submissions! We need some time to catch up but we continue to accept submissions of all genres.

Submission Instructions

Please read carefully. These guidelines are are a little different!

  1. It should go without saying that your piece is polished and publishable. If your story needs proofing and revision, it will be rejected.
  2. If published here, your work will be fully available to readers to see for free. I will not own your work, though. It's yours and if you choose to have it taken down at any time I will abide by your wishes. It is my hope that acceptance here will help you on your way to a traditional (and lucrative) publishing deal.
  3. As part of my commitment to judge your writing without prejudice please do NOT provide a bio, resume, or any sort of additional information. I do not want to know your experience, age, gender, race, or anything else about you until your piece is accepted.
  4. Your submission should be as anonymous as possible. Please remove any identifiers from your work. I understand that your email address may reveal your name. That's okay, but if you have an email that obscures your name -- even better!
  5. There are no length requirements. Send us what you've got. If your story is over 16,000 words, you will only be able to send us part of it via the submission form. I'll get in touch with you if we want to read the full manuscript. I won't be publishing teasers or samples, though, for our young readers. If you want to submit your book, then you would be offering the whole book.
  6. You should not identify a genre for your story. Where it "fits" can be a discussion if your piece is selected.  Please do not forget that this site is for writers of material for youth--middle grades through new adult.
Please make sure to provide an email that you check regularly.
If your work is more than 16,000 words, just paste as much as you can. If I love the beginning, I'll request the full manuscript via email.
